Citizen reporting, straight to the field
The brief
Where this started
FYLD's AI platform runs field workforces for utilities and infrastructure companies. The ShowMe initiative asked a bold question: what if citizens could report issues and request utility services directly, feeding straight into the field-operations platform? I designed the proof of concept, on a very tight clock.
The friction
What was getting in the way
A consumer-facing experience had to grow out of a platform built for professional field crews.
More than a dozen stakeholders across product, operations and leadership, each with their own picture of the feature.
A tight timeline: the prototype had to be demo-ready for conversations with governments and utilities.
The response
What we built instead
ShowMe: a citizen flow to capture and submit an issue or service request in seconds, with location and visual evidence attached.
Flows designed to translate messy real-world reports into structured, actionable field tasks.
A market-ready interactive Figma prototype polished enough to carry live demos.
The method
How the evidence led there
Stakeholder alignment
ran 12+ stakeholder interviews to converge many visions into one testable concept.
Rapid definition
distilled interviews into user flows and information architecture within days, not weeks.
High-fidelity prototyping
built the interactive prototype in Figma, iterating with stakeholders in fast review cycles.
Demo readiness
refined content, states and edge cases until the prototype could survive a live audience.
The result
What changed
A market-ready prototype delivered on deadline.
Demonstrated by FYLD to governments and utilities worldwide.
A repeatable pattern for turning citizen input into structured field work.
Why it matters: Rapid, stakeholder-heavy prototyping under a real deadline: the fastest honest path from a field-operations platform to a citizen-facing service.
